Open Mind Project: TRUST

The final episode of the OPEN MIND PROJECT is TRUST, where trust was defined as faith and belief, and the indispensable of human relationships. These are the trusting relationships between farmers/producers, middleman, and consumers like us. Without this trust and credence, there is no way that organic farming system can be sustainable.

TRUST is the epilogue of ‘God and Satan’, who are watching the humans closely. ‘God’ is played by Jirayu Tantrakul, a talented actor who excites the audience with his many different roles; he was the nurse in LOST, he played the supermarket clerk in THE CONNECTOR, and he drove the taxi and vegetable cart in BELIEVE. In this final episode of TRUST, it will be revealed why God appeared in every episode.

God and Satan is the source of light and power to darkness of one person. That is the interpretation of the co-producers, Nattaporn Pinpetch and Jaturaporn Pinpetch, who shaped Satan as a destructive soul that longs to destroy the Earth because the Earth was harmed by humans, where God was the envisioned as the light that placed high hopes in humans and believed that humans can reshape their actions. He disguised himself and appeared on Earth to guide the humans towards the Light.

But before getting to shine the light or take action, God realized that humans have an instinct for survival. Humans have a conscience to realization and improve themselves. In LOST, God met Angie, whom was suffering from the illness by accumulated chemicals. Angie understood for herself that the consequences were caused by her own actions. She simply had to change her lifestyle and consumption behavior to make things better. In THE CONNECTOR, God questioned the perfect crops sold in Thiti’s Perfect Green supermarket, but before he could take any actions, Thiti himself realized what he was doing was not the right thing.

True perfection must not hurt the people. Therefore, he transformed the Perfect Green supermarket into the Ugly Farm, a supermarket that only sells nontoxic products, so consumers can have good health. This leads to the famer’s story in BELIEVE. God plays the taxi driver that drove Nat back home. God questioned Nat on true happiness, which reaffirmed Nat’s determination of what he was doing was the right thing. He was determined to start planting vegetables and raising animals by organic agriculture, and using social media-based technology to generate revenue, as well as assemble farmers in the area to strengthen the community.

This is the beauty of human beings.

Humans love and humans are creatures that are shaped by self-love and the love of the people around them. Love and goodwill are the things that humans give to each other, and this makes the world beautiful. Although the world has come to the point where all parties questioned their past actions, like how wild animals and sea creatures died from plastics, or how the accumulated chemicals deteriorated the soil and water. However, it was not too late for everyone to work together to correct the wrongs.

Each one of us must cooperate and open their hearts to each other. The heavenly world of humans, animals, and trees must certainly come back.
