On the simple 42 square rai of land, who would have thought that there would be one 30-year-old man who has left a chaotic city life with his bright future as a broker behind to start his simple life that anyone could be jealous at the “Thammada Garden” (Thammada means Simple in Thai). This is the story of the simple garden that will be able to simply inspire everyone.
Ohm Akkaradet Muangmai made his decision to go full scale with his agricultural career with the hydraulic farming for 2 years now alongside working as a broker. He started this as a hobby that finally he decided to spend all his time with his family in creating Thammada Garden, the organic farm that helps sustain all family members where he has over 40 clients who understand the concept of safe ingredients and Ohm’s true intention in farming.
Ohm said that when he was young, his family was an ordinary family who used the chemical fertilizer throughout the agricultural production. Until everyone grew up and started their jobs in the city, the farming land had been left undeveloped. But because of his intention of wanting to come back and live a simple life, Ohm started to take organic farming seriously and developed this land once again. It took him 3-5 years in getting rid of the chemical substance from the soil in order to prevent the production from being contaminated. The production volume has gone down from 28 tons to 10 tons after the organic farming, however, it is a 10 tons of quality production which has value added for safety consumption purpose.
He further explained that the professional organic farming can gives the best price with safe ingredients because consumers these days are more aware of their sources of ingredients. This result organic farming products becoming highly demanded in the market with constant growth of demand in the future. Looking though the broker’s perspective, the chemical fertilizer would ruin the soil, hence it is not good in long run, whereas the organic farming can keep your soil in a good shape which is worth investing despite getting the less production volume, it increases more value added to the products. It might take time to put up with in in the first 3 years from the beginning.
The simple thought of this man makes this simple story a simple but full of quality ones. It is the thought that lies on the basis of self-esteem, time management and customer loyalty, making this simple life admirable and happy.
