What do people do with their raw materials in Yufuin?


This article is not a food review,but rather to create the inspiration in processing raw materials both in terms of adding product value, resource management. This has become the source of raw materials that everyone should try once when visiting Yufuin. We would like to introduce you the Four Seasons Selection. The name seems to have 4 seasons of magical items (which is true). Because here, the agricultural crops are renewed through the processing of fruits and vegetables into brands of jams and pickles. Normally, people who like to eat Japanese food that has meat as an ingredient in would often see that a variety side dishes of pickle. This is Japanese wisdom to have these side dishes along with protein foods. Because these pickles contain probiotics or food that can help digest and maintain balance in the intestine as well. These pickles can increase the value added with its sweet taste, crispiness, and the cute packaging.



Dairy products in this city are also interesting. Although it’s not as famous as in Hokkaido, but it would be a shame for not writing about it. Because milk is processed, adding value in a chic dessert style including the butter that is used in the bread shop where each shop has the use of milk that combined and customized shop ideas into new products. Let’s see what we have today!


Milk soft serve is an ice cream with milk sugar, served in cups or cones. The shop guarantees that it does not contain ice cream stabilizers. Therefore, if the weather is very hot, we must finish it as soon as possible before it melts down.


Milk soft serve with coffee syrup – a soft serve ice cream base topped with a strong coffee-rich syrup. These get along so well.


Milk soft serve with sesame. This is for people who like sesame flavor as it comes in the combination of sesame ice cream mixed with this sesame seeds. The shop sells only sesame products such as black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds, sesame rice sprinkling powder, sesame filling, sesame oil and a combination of soft ice cream served with sesame seeds for their customers to enjoy chewing the sesames. This is considered as one of the best combinations so far.



Custard Cakes -- If you ever walked to the main street and not talking about cheesecake, then that’s also a shame. The fragrance of the cake we could smell is the indicator that me sure that we are on the right street. The shop sells both cold and hot custard cheesecake that can melt in your mouth. The taste is so yummy!


This bread shop is on sale from 10:30 a.m. until they finish everything around noon time. Their use of butter milk tea comes from the local materials. But we didn't ask if they produce their own yeast or not. According to the authentic Japanese bread style, the bread is different from French and Italian ones due to the crust that is very thin with constant and a lot of air holes, making it very soft when you eat. Unlike the European ones that can be harder and stickier. Today, we did order the butter bun, a round bread stuffed with butter. The butter, of course, melted and penetrated through the bun fiber which you can tell that it’s made of the high-quality milk. The smell was the fragrance of butter and soft bread that melted in the mouth. This is the real happiness of the day.



This is just a part of bringing raw materials to add value to the community. We could say that the food or dessert consists 3 important components, namely the cook, the method and the raw material. But here, we would like to give a thumbs up to their chemical-free and high-quality raw materials and the attempt in trying to live sustainably. It is the circulation of resources management from planting until decomposing. Everything come with clear guidelines, while everyone in the community is working together. We think that in the future, the direction of agricultural cooperatives in our home, Thailand, requires all sectors, including the manufacturing, processing, and design sectors to work together. We believe that if Yufuin is a dream city for many people, then some provinces in Thailand can also have a chance to become one like Yufuin one day with their
